Commercial Printing Services for Direct Mail Campaigns

In-house printing built for mail. Postcards, self-mailers, letters, brochures, and newsletters produced at our New Paltz facility and moved directly into mail prep.

When your printed piece is going into the mail, printing is only half the job. The format, paper stock, folds, addressing, and USPS compliance all affect whether your campaign lands cleanly, qualifies for postal discounts, and gets responses.

Cornerstone Services provides commercial printing for businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, and organizations that need print built for real-world mailing. We produce postcards, self-mailers, brochures, newsletters, letters, envelopes, and other campaign materials in-house at our New Paltz facility, then move those jobs directly into mail prep when needed — no handoffs, no delays, no pieces lost between vendors.

Commercial printing built for mail

A lot of printers can put ink on paper. Fewer are set up to handle the full workflow from file review to printed piece to postal-ready mail.

Our commercial printing work is built around direct mail requirements. That means we look at more than color and finish. We also review size, thickness, folds, aspect ratio, addressing areas, tabbing requirements, and other details that affect postage and mailability.

If a piece is meant to mail, it should be designed and printed with mailing in mind from the start. We've seen too many campaigns get derailed because a printer approved a file without checking whether it meets USPS automation standards or qualifies for presort discounts.

What we print

We print a wide range of direct-mail and business communication formats, including:

Postcards
Standard and jumbo sizes — 4×6, 6×9, 6×11 — on heavy cardstock
Self-Mailers
Bi-fold and tri-fold formats that mail without an envelope
Brochures & Flyers
Campaign and event materials in various fold configurations
Letters & Envelopes
Personalized letters with matching envelopes and reply inserts
Newsletters
Multi-page pieces for organizations, associations, and municipalities
Reply Inserts & Collateral
BREs, donation slips, and supporting campaign materials
Business Stationery
Letterheads, envelopes, business cards, and notepads

Whether you need a short-run digital job or a larger campaign, we match the format and production method to the job.

Postcard printing services

Postcards remain one of the most effective direct mail formats because they are easy to read, cost-efficient to mail, and fast to produce. We print postcards in common direct mail sizes such as 4×6, 6×9, and 6×11, with stock and coating options based on your campaign goals.

For many local and regional campaigns, postcards are the simplest way to combine visibility, speed, and response. A Hudson Valley nonprofit running a donor reactivation campaign saw a 23% response rate using 6×9 postcards with variable data personalization — well above their historical email performance.

Direct mail printing and mailing

Because Cornerstone Services also handles mailing, your project does not need to leave one vendor for another after it comes off press. That reduces delays, prevents handoff mistakes, and keeps the campaign moving.

We can print, address, sort, prep, and induct mail with one coordinated workflow. For clients running recurring campaigns — monthly newsletters, quarterly appeals, seasonal promotions — that saves time and keeps production more predictable.

One Ulster County property management company coordinates 12 mailings per year through our facility. Their turnaround from final file to mail drop averages 4 business days because we eliminate the print-to-mail handoff.

Variable data printing

Variable data printing allows you to personalize each printed piece with different names, addresses, offers, neighborhoods, account details, or other fields.

This is especially useful for:

  • Customer reactivation campaigns
  • Nonprofit donor appeals
  • Municipal notices and tax communications
  • Real estate farming
  • Segmented offers by audience or geography

If your campaign performs better with personalization, variable data printing gives you a way to scale it without creating separate jobs manually. We've run campaigns with thousands of unique versions — same layout, different content matched to each recipient.

Digital and offset printing options

Not every print job should be produced the same way. Some campaigns need short-run flexibility and fast turnarounds. Others need larger quantities and lower unit costs.

We use digital and offset production based on quantity, timeline, versioning, and finish requirements. The goal is not to force every job into one press method — it is to choose the method that fits the project.

Digital Printing

Best for runs under 5,000 pieces, jobs with variable data, or campaigns that need quick turnaround.

Offset Printing

Best for runs above 5,000 where unit cost matters and the content is static. Lower cost per piece at volume.

Our process

1

File review and preflight

We review artwork for bleed, resolution, color mode, layout, and mailing compatibility before anything goes to press.

2

Proof approval

You receive a proof before production begins. We do not print until you approve.

3

Printing

Your job is produced on the equipment that best fits the quantity and format — digital for short runs, offset for high volume.

4

Mail prep or delivery

Jobs can move directly into addressing, presort, and postal prep, or be prepared for pickup and delivery.

Serving the Hudson Valley and Catskills

We work with clients throughout Ulster County, Dutchess County, Orange County, Sullivan County, and Delaware County. Our facility is centrally located in New Paltz, making us accessible to businesses and organizations in Kingston, Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, Middletown, Monticello, Margaretville, and surrounding areas. For regional campaigns, our USPS presort partnerships allow us to handle mail preparation and induction for the entire Northeast.

Frequently asked questions

What file formats do you accept for printing?

We accept PDF, Adobe InDesign packaged files, and Adobe Illustrator files. PDFs should be press-ready with fonts embedded, images at 300 DPI minimum, and bleed included where needed.

How long does printing take?

Turnaround depends on quantity and format. Digital runs under 1,000 pieces typically print within 2–3 business days after proof approval. Offset jobs take 5–7 business days for runs over 5,000. Rush service is available for time-sensitive campaigns.

Can you handle the mailing after printing?

Yes. We print and mail in the same facility. Once your job comes off press, we can move it directly into data processing, addressing, and postal prep without leaving the building.

Do you offer design services?

We provide file review and minor layout adjustments, but full graphic design is handled by our design team. If you need a mail piece designed, ask us about bundling design with your print job.

What is the minimum order quantity?

There is no strict minimum. We've printed jobs as small as 100 postcards for local campaigns and as large as 50,000+ pieces for regional nonprofit appeals. Pricing adjusts based on quantity and complexity.
