SENDING LETTERS TO SANTA AT THE NORTH POLE

MAILBAG WEDNESDAY – Did you know that Santa has his own ZIP Code? Why, yes… yes he does!

Not only does the USPS have to accept letters to Santa, but they also want kids to write letters to Santa! Enter “USPS Operation Santa”.

Many of you might remember the movie scene from 1947’s “Miracle on 34th Street” where postal employees entered the courtroom in defense of Santa. It was a sentimental move, not a sound legal one, but it made for great courtroom drama when thousands of letters to “Kris Kringle” got dumped on the judge’s desk.

Today, letters to Santa don’t get mailed to “New York County Court House, Center & Pearl Streets, New York City”, Santa has “partnered” with the USPS to make letter delivery more efficient. Saving you a click-through, Cornerstone has provided the mailing address so that children of all ages (hey, we’re talking to you!) could send a letter (between September 16th and December 9th in 2024). Here’s what you need to know:

Step 1. In your letter, don’t forget to include your full name and return address
Step 2. Put Santa’s address (below) and use proper postage
Step 3. Your letter needs to be postmarked between September 16th and December 9th (as of 2024)

Santa
123 Elf Road
North Pole, 88888

Step 4. Wait. So what happens next? Well, that’s going to require a little bit of faith. Your… we mean… the child’s letter could get “adopted” and then something special will come in the mail, but there will only be one way to find out! Merry Christmas and Ho-ho-ho!!!
