GOTV POLITICAL MAIL STRATEGY

With political mailings, Cornerstone Services (www.crst.net) usually recommends sending a final GOTV (Get Out The Vote) card to the ever faithful.  We call these (household) voters “High Prime” because we have ID’d them as voting in either “3 out of 3” or “4 out of 4” of the past elections.   

The card needs to be simple, sized perhaps only 4″ x 6″ or even 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, printed B/W on color cardstock.   

When a political party gets close to the primary or general election date, there’s no longer time to educate the voters — the party just needs to make sure they show up.  Voters are reminded of inherent values (which are presumably aligned with them), told in so many words, “Don’t Forget to Vote!”
