FREE COVID-19 TESTS STILL AVAILABLE IN FALL 2024

We are all learning to live with COVID-19, which seems to come and go in waves. Many organizations still request people to test prior to event attendance, and test kits can run around $10 each at your local pharmacy. Additionally, COVID-19 tests do have expiration dates, so even if you have some at home, they may need to be replaced.   

The good news is that the USPS assists with free-of-charge delivery of COVID-19 home test kits once ordered (no charge) from the U.S. Government’s Department of Health and Human Services.  The USPS does subsidize the cost of  

The ordering process is simple:  go online to https://special.usps.com/testkits to request four (4) Free At-Home COVID-19 Tests shipped directly to you.  

Please note that there is a maximum of four (4) per household, and this seems to be a “lifetime” limit wherein the USPS knows if you ordered free kits years ago.  Even adding “secondary” delivery information, such as “Apt. 1,” won’t help you.  The USPS also knows if you attempt to use a business address, so just ask a friend or neighbor to assist if you don’t wish to explore other resources.  Of interest, the US Government’s ASPR (Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response) website https://www.covidtests.gov/ will simply bring you back to the same USPS test kit site above.
